Fukuda Mayuko (福田麻由子) “Saigo no Tsubasa” eng/viet sub

Drama "Sono 5 fun Mae" Location Report
... 2006/11/25

This time is the report for "Saigo no Tsubasa". The weather today is the best, and it continues like that for the weather at the filming location as well. This time, we need to have a sunny day. And the reason for that is...

The retiring junior high art teacher actually have a dream since he is young that he chased with passion, to the point that he become a teacher. But now, the passion has fade and the dream was unachievable. With such disappointment, "this time", will he be able to see it again? But at that moment, a "miracle" appears.

This "miracle" is actually a common theme for "Aru Yoru no Dekigoto", "Last Fight", "Nigero Melos", and "Ashita e no Funade".

I'm sorry to say, but you will only know by watching the broadcast. But for those who take a look at the website, we will disclose to you an important hint. The weather is an important connection to this "miracle"... Maybe I'm saying too much... Well, in order for you to enjoy the drama, I think it's best that I don't say anything. Please be sure to watch the broadcast.

For this 5 minutes, playing the retiring art teacher, Tooyama, is the amazing Natsuyagi Isao-san.

Doesn't the students usually hang out after school in the art classroom? Though many students who are taking their exams doesn't really have a direct connection with art as a subject, but when looking at the students, the art teacher will want to work on his own art (in order to not lose to the students). The other teacher doesn't really have a similar mindset (since they can't really work on anything...).

Natsuyagi-san and Erika (student), played by Fukuda Mayuko-san, will be working together for this drama. Not looking down on her, and regards her as a friend but still maintaining the teacher-student relationships, you can see Natsuyagi-san's realistic portrayal.

5 minutes before he has to retire, Tooyama is throwing away everything that he did, from teaching materials, oil paintings, sketches, to carvings, as if abandoning himself. When Erika discovers the pictures that we wasn't able to throw away, Tooyama has an expression of embarrassment and confusion. After he tells her his secret, a miracle occurs at last... I think it's great just watching Natsuyagi-san's facial expressions these 5 minutes.

On the other hand, Fukuda Mayuko-san, who's playing Erika, is just 12 years old. Appeared in "Joou no Kyoushitsu", "Byakuyakou", "Chibi Maruko-chan SP", the most recent "Saikai: Yokota Megumi-san no Negai", etc... as well as "Gimmy Heaven" and "Kamikaze Girls", etc... Rather than a super child actress, she's already on her way to be a splendid actress.

Though I wrote that it's "like a friend" earlier, this is how Erika is established in the script. In the drama, there's a part where Erika imitates Tooyama. This is also required in the script. Just to make it clear, the real Fukuda-san is like a normal, polite ojou-san. As she stretches her back, you can feel both the maturity and the purity of a young lady. Her perfect portrayal of Erika is worth seeing. There's an old expression "Koakuma-like" ("小悪魔 (Koakuma)" originally means "goblin" but it often refers to a very cute and alluring girl who knocks down every guy) , it's similar to this feeling.

"Saigo no Tsubasa" is a work that I want to talk about a lot after watching it, but I'll leave it at that for now. The mini dramas "Sono 5 fun Ato" is a series of works that are loaded with messages, so if it's possible, please be sure to watch it. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu.

So after a few weeks of discussion, Facebook messaging, downloading, watching, and me being demanding/perfectionist, the English and Vietnamese subbed version of “Saigo no Tsubasa” is finally finished. キタ━━━(゜∀゜)━━━!!!!!

Much thanks to my partner in crime, Alyza, for always spoiled me and doing all the hard work (including obtaining the file/timing/correcting all my mistakes/putting up with me/pretty much everything I don’t do). m(_ _)m Thank you so much.

This is a work from Mayuko that I quite enjoyed. It’s also a few works of hers that she’s playing a normal, cheerful, and mischievous girl. Even though it’s short, it’s meaningful, not to mention the casts are great! (。 >艸<)

Please enjoy!
